Babies, Toddlers and Playgroup: Groups at daycares and play schools, before formal preschool years.
Grade 000 and Grade 00: Preschool years, usually when a child turns 4 and 5.
Grade R: The reception year before Grade 1, at a primary school or preschool.
Grade 1 to 12: Primary school runs to Grade 7 and high school from Grade 8 to matric (Grade 12).
